Session 1: September 1-2, 0 "An introduction to Redwall Academy"
September 1: After retrieving a large sum of gold to begin paying back some of his debts and thus avoid having his fingers broken, the scholarship student, Arden Moss, arrived at his conjuration class only to be called over by his professor, Stephan Tefran. Their conversation began amiably as professor Tefran lauded the work Arden had completed so far before things took a turn for a worse. Apparently Arden had a new roommate, an elf by the name of Thranduil Tharavor and the professor wanted a favor regarding him. Arden would be charged with making sure the young elf actually came to his classes and in return, would be owed a favor. Although not enamored with the idea of sharing his room, Arden agreed to the terms (after having it explained that he would have Thraduil as a roommate whether or not he agreed).
Arden then left to show his new "friend" to their quarters in the west wing of the dorms only to have it pointed out that his money purse had begun floating away by Thraduil. And the chase began. After chasing the floating purse down several corridors the pair came to a room with three doors barring the one they had come in through and a man sitting in a floating cage in the middle of it. "Hey dumbo, let me out of this cage.", he said. Arden responded asking if he had seen a floating money purse but the man responded "I might have, I might not have. It's hard to remember when you're locked up." After a brief moment of consideration Arden decided that whatever punishment the school inflicted upon him for letting the man out of the cage would not be worse than getting all of his fingers broken and so grabbed the key off the wall and let Martigan out. Martigan snatched up his sword from the corner and pointed at the middle door. And so the now trio continued their chase.
Flea, as he found himself frequently called much to his annoyance (most humans and even elves refused to refer to him by his full name), continued down the corridors of the academy, unseen by all he passed. 20 crowns to simply test out a spell seemed like more than a fair deal to him. As he entered a hall containing 4 suits of armor he saw a trio of gnome-esque creatures with red caps and wrinkly faces running down the hall, one carrying a small leather pouch. The one carrying the pouch turned and ran through a door as the other two stopped and drew weapons, a dagger and an axe, as a trio of a large human, a smaller human in wizard's robes, and an elf came barreling around the corner, only to be tripped by the two redcaps which immediately set upon them. The one in wizard's robes muttered a few arcane words and his longsword leaped from his sheath and began to swing midair. The two redcaps immediately began to attack at which moment the large human yelled out "There they are!" before drawing his sword with a furious roar that he would use them as a home for his blackroot. Thus the redcap with the axe fled. With a yell, Flea charged forward attacking the ambushers at which moment his obscuring spell ended. The elf sat back and watched (considering helping, but also debating his now ever increasing chances of having a room to himself) before leaping forward to attack. Arden's floating sword then finished off then monster and and within moments the redcap turned to iron. Arden picked up the statue tossing it into his pack as Flea introduced himself, and the now quartet charged after the remaining redcaps and Arden's money.
The next room that the group found seemed to be some kind of study with only one exit, a door with a red glowing rune on it. Arden and Thranduil recognized it as some sort of wizard lock. Upon mentioning this Martigan swung at it with his great sword and was sent flying onto the other side of the room. Arden the began to examine the open book on a desk next to the door but as he did so the redcap with the axe leaped out from the desk and began to attack him driving him back into the wall. This time Thranduil attacked immediately, saving his roommate and losing his chance at a double single. This redcap turned into a crude marble statue of its former self and was pocketed once again by Arden. Arden the grabbed the book from the desk and realizing it contained a scroll of knock, used it to open the door.
The next room seemed to be a pantry with a large pile of clothes sitting in it's center. The group began to explore the room but was interrupted the the pile of clothes animating into a vaguely human shape with a wicked looking dagger in one hand, a frying pan in the other, and a pot for a helmet. Flea and Martigan charged forward followed by Thranduil as Arden reanimated his sword. Flea cut off one of the "arms" while Arden and Martigan slashed at it with their swords. Thranduil spotting the redcap inside through the holes, skewered it with his thin-blade turning it to oak. At this point Martigan picked it up and cracked open it's head with his sword before pulling a black root from his shirt and placing it inside. Later he game the two pieces to Arden.
Arden then led the group to the office of the head of transmutation, Mialee Amateris, hoping to learn something of who might have animated the redcaps. There he heard yelling from inside before a young elf with multicolored hair stormed out. After a brief set of introductions and an explanation she told the group she would look into who had recently gotten the materials together that would be needed to animate the redcaps. Then, back to the dorms where Thraduil was shocked with the pitiful size of his room and after a long bout of arguing sent a message to his steward to bring him a larger one. Arden realizing it was getting late rushed to his meeting place to avoid having his fingers broken and was followed by his new friend. There instead of finding some sort of hulking brute waiting for payment a lithe elf with silver hair swung out of an apple tree. She introduced herself as Syrune, saying she was there to collect the money Arden owed but he refused to pay her until she produced some sort of proof that she was indeed authorized to collect, and so angrily she stormed off saying she would be back within an hour. Moments later, another elf swung out of a different apple tree (it's like they're raise in trees, oh wait...). The group recognized her as the one who had stormed out of Mialee's office and she introduced herself as Alura. After talking with Alura for a short while Syrune returned with a document showing that she was indeed authorized to collect the debt and so, after having her sign off that she had received his money, Arden handed it over. He then proceeded to attempt to convince her to fence the redcap statues he had on him and after some heated "bartering" (minor threats from either party) she agreed to fence them for 10% of the profits and that she would get them from Arden the next day once he had repaired the broken one. Returning to his room with Martigan, Arden went to bed while Martigan slept on the floor.
September 2: Upon awakening to begin repairing the redcap the next morning Thranduil finally returned to his room with a drink in hand and found that not only had his new bed arrived but there was also a gift on it. Opening it he found a small elven beagle inside which he could think of no uses for. Arden offered to take care of it for him for the morning and took the dog to breakfast with him and Martigan. On the way there they were intercepted by Flea who said he had found a job for Martigan doing security and would bring them to meet the captain of the guards after breakfast. Once inside the cafeteria however Martigan realized why Arden had offered to take the dog. Almost every girl in the room ran straight to Arden seeing him carrying the adorable puppy. Soon Arden handed the dog off to Alura, seeing her nearby and scampered off to sneak up on Syrune, whom he had noticed was watching him from one of the corners of the room. He gave he the three now intact redcaps and said he would meet her at the orchard in the same place as yesterday before retrieving Martigan and Dog and going with Flea to meet the captain of the guards.
They met her at the Dragon's Flagon, where she introduced herself as Shael Foxfire. She gave Martigan a strangely familiar suit of scalemail and a badge before finishing her drink and heading out. At this point Arden realized that he had to hurry if he was going to get Thranduil to their conjuration class on time. Rushing back to the dorms he began to argue with the elf who was unwilling to leave at least until the beagle threw up on his shoes. The two managed to arrive at their class just late enough to find that they had missed out on the finer points of summoning nymphs and they would now be moving on, to elementals. Thranduil was furious but at least now willing to show up to his next class on time.
Arden accompanied his roommate to his music theory class (physics for music majors) where at the door they were greeted by a gnome flying out through the main doors of the class room. Looking into the room Arden realized that one of the instruments had been possessed by some kind of air elemental (he had actually paid attention in conjuration). The trombone flew forward shrieking and both causing students to run while attracting the attention of Flea and Martigan. Thranduil skillfully stabbed the mephit within the instrument while managing to avoid damaging it. Flea was not so careful and smashed a hole in it to get to the creature within. The gnome who had been blasted from the room at their arrival began to produce a countersong and accompanied by Thranduil's singing was able to overpower the hideous noise coming from the mephit animated trombone. Martigan finished off the creature smashing through it and the instrument with his great sword. At this point the gnome introduced himself as Dibigo Lemuse, Thranduil's music teacher and thanked them for their assistance before attempting to gather the rest of his students together.
After Thranduil's class ended, Arden went back to the orchard to meet Syrune, accompanied by Thranduil, Flea, and Martigan. Dibigo went for a stroll while strumming his guitar on "The Deadwalk" which overlooked the orchard and to his horror noticed what he recognized as a stirge hive at the top of a tree. Meanwhile, below the tree Syrune gave Arden the money he had been promised but was incapacitated moments later by a stirge latching onto her from behind. Arden cut the creature off of her as Martigan and Flea attacked the other stirges that seemed to be coming in from all sides. Thranduil nimbly dodged as Dibigo fired globs of acid at the mosquito like creature which remained out of reach. Soon there were none left and he climbed down to meet the rest of the group. After a moments discussion they decided the hive had to be taken care of and Arden, levitating his sword up to it cut it down so that the rest of the group could smash it to bits. Inside they found a ring which Dibigo recognized as a ring of climbing and which was handed over to Flea. Arden meanwhile debated where he could bring Syrune, that she would be recognized and taken care of.

Session 2: September 2-15, 0 "Those poor snakes"
After their encounter with the stirges Arden finally decided that the best place to bring Syrune was to one of the many people to whom he owed money. Afterall, they might be grateful for the return of their messenger/finger-breaker. Dibigo announced his plans to report the encounter to the chancelor but stated he would meet his companions in the dining hall afterwards. Martigan, Flea, and Thranduil all agreed that filling their stomachs was probably the best way to forget the encounter and headed to the dining hall.
When they arrived Thranduil spend a short time speaking with Mialee Amateras who had heard of his interest in joining the bladesingers and suggested he come to her class the next day while casting a haste spell on his to show him why it is such a popular school among bladesingers. Martigan eventually spotted Chancellor Di'riath and remembering his indignities inside a cage grabbed a grapefruit and strode toward him. Fortunately he was distracted moments later by Flea once again calling him "Marty" and Flea instead got the grapefruit in the face. Later Flea decided to get back at him by using a ghostsound to lure the barbarian into the kitchen immitating a woman's voice.
As the evening wound down Martigan and Flea were approached by Shael, the captain of the guards and were invited to join her at "The Dragon's Flagon" for drinks. They agreed and along with Thranduil went to the bar. However, Flea first hurried out into the wilderness where he attempted mto convince a group of snakes to come to the bar (and harass Martigan) using a speak with animals spell. Eventually they were convinced through the offering of food. At the Dragon's Flagon, Thranduil attempted to charm the origin of her horns out of her but when it finally looked like he might be getting somewhere he was rudely interrupted by a satyr named Jaques who continued to make advances toward her even after she took a swing at him. Meanwhile further down the bar, Martigan found himself surrounded by several snakes. which he immediately attempted to kill. Thanduil and Flea attempted to subdue the satyr who threw Shael over the bar and knock another guard through a window. Things progressively got worse until Martigan convinced him to leave, throwing a keg at him and making an elaborate threat.
Thranduil went to the infirmary for a cracked rib after the fight where he spent the night having a nurse named Darshee "take care of him". Flea then subtlely slipped the barkeep some money for the damages and gathered the snakes Martigan had not taken for burial, unhappy that he had led them to their deaths. The next morning he found Martigan in the woods cooking his snake from the night before. After convincing his fellow guard to let him "see" the snake he ran up a tree waiting until Martigan (who found another snake and a clutch of eggs for breakfast) left to come down and bury the snake. Meanwhile Thranduil awake in the infirmary and after Darshee rushed off to take care of here duties was examined by Anselm, a half-elf druid who mended his ribs. He then rushed off to his transmutation, noting the presence of another patient. Syrune had apparently been brought to the school's infirmary.
After actually going to his transmutation class and seeing Arden diligently taking notes Thranduil went to the training grounds (mentioned the night before by Shael) in hopes of beginning his bladesinging training, where he found Martigan and Flea. The class began with horsemanship in which both Thranduil and Martigan excelled, easily surpassing the rest of the students while attempting to outdo each other. Flea however did not do so well, although he blamed it on the fact that he had to ride a dog instead of a proper boar. The trio was then given a training task: to knock down a minotaur who was introduced as Charlie before he could unhorse them. Flea and Martigan quickly charged forward but Thranduil, even after being told to use sword he had been handed went for a nearby lance. While he was able to knock the minotaur over, he was given as a sparring partner for the rest of the day the blade dancer, Alea, who usually helped teach the classes. She spent their time together tripping and disarming the elven prince in hopes of teaching him some humility. When their time sparing finally ended however, he was approached by an air genasi by the name of Galind who applauded his bravado.
Finally, Thranduil, Martigan, and Flea went to the centaur Gothard for his class. Flea hoped the ranger would be able to help him acquire a boar to ride while Thranduil and Martigan expected to learn about hunting in the elven forest. When they arrived they found Gothard explaining to his students points in tracking and how they would find a mysterious creature which had been killing small game. From the uneaten carcasses he had found he suspected whatever it was could not be more than three feet tall but likely had poisonous claws the size of needles. Any students who found something that fit the description should not engage it but rather should call him.
Thranduil, Martigan, and Flea headed off but were unfortunately able to find something much larger than the creature they were hunting. Bursting from the trees toward them was a monstrous owlbear. Martigan charged forward, injuring the creature but being mauled in the process while Thranduil moved to flank the creature. They were able to defeat it but Martigan was severely injured and so they began to trek back cutting straight through the forest rather than following the path so as to save time. In doing so they came to a group of standing stone with several small creatures, seemingly made of twigs hiding behind them. Flea called out to them but in response the twig blights charged forward. Fortunately, they were miserable opponents compared to the owl bear and the group made quick work of them just as Gothard strode forth, hearing the sounds of the fight. He immediately gave Martigan some good berries for his wounds before leading the trio back. Upon returning they found that only one of the other groups of students had found any of the creatures as Alura ran forward hoping up and down with one in her hands. Gothard then took the creature and began to explain what he could of what the twig blights were before dismissing the class.

Sessions 3-4: September 16-October 10, 0 "Flight School, the hedge maze, & why we hate girls"
Part 1
After lobbying to be excepted into one of the higher level metamagic classes Arden was told he would be accepted only under the condition that he could impress the teacher, Di'riath Amateras. Immediately the student came up with a plan: he would get Thranduil to class on time, a feat of epic magic at least. He began by calling in a favor and having Syrune get Thranduil drunk to the point of passing out. The heading to the alchemy lab he enlisted the aid of a gnome professor to help him create something that would wake even the dead if they were to drink it. The next morning, carrying his roommate on a floating disk and veiling him with an illusion of books, he brought him to their shared linguistics class at the break of dawn and as the professor entered the room, poured the "jolt" down his throat. Thranduil was not only on time but one of the first students and wide awake for the entire class.
During the next week Dibigo and Arden received a suggestion from a professor to join the sparing and horsemanship class for a day. Even though he was somewhat hesitant to go th a class where he might be required to do some sort of physical activity, he still came at the appointed time. Together the entire group found that today was designated to activities that were slightly different from the norm. Several large winged creatures were lined up: a silver dragon, a hippogriff, a dire bat and a pegasus among others. Thranduil strode up to the hippogriff but was promptly knocked over by a swat of tis wing after which he moved onto the pegasus. Martigan went for the dire bat and did an amazing job of keeping it calm as he mounted it. Dibigo walked over to the dragon and played it a song on his guitar after which it allowed him onto its back. The hippogriff did not like Flea any more than it had Thranduil but the gnome, in an amazing feat of strength wrestled it into submission. Arden was lent a flying carpet to ride. After each of them spent some time practicing on their respective mounts they were split into two teams for a game of dodge ball; anyone hit twice or to fall from their mount would be out. The teams were team muscle (Martigan and Flea) and team filthy cheaters (Arden and Dibigo). Dibigo had the silver dragon try to blow Flea off his hippogriff and was eventually successful as Flea threw the different floating balls at him. Meanwhile, Arden greased Martigan's saddle as Martigan nearly knocked him off his carpet with an expert toss. He then enlarged the raging barbarian weighing down his mount. In response Martigan leaped off his mount grabbing one of the floating balls and hurling it into Arden putting both out of them the match.
Once the class had finished Flea and Thranduil were dismayed to find their boar and elven horse had been taken and a note left in their place. It requested Arden's presence at the hedge maze that existed on the academy grounds on the next day. At the appointed time, Arden, Thranduil, Martigan, Flea, and Dibigo arrived at the maze expecting a trap and were not disappointed. First they were attacked by plants from all sides. Then they found a ensorcelled minotaur blocking their path which Arden tricked by showing it an illusion of himself which it promptly killed before walking off. Finally arriving at the center of the maze they found a goblin enchanter, along with two cockatrices. The creatures were quickly slain and the goblin subdued but not before Martigan was turned to stone. Upon examining the courtyard afterward they found the remains of the boar and horse as a broken statue and sovereign glue respectively.
Part 2
Returning to the academy the group put the goblin in the cage where they had originally found Martigan and then went to see Mialee in hopes of having him returned to normal. She agreed to cast the appropriate spells in exchange for one of the cockatrices. Leaving Arden with her, Thranduil went to see his stuart to demand a new horse which the stuart promptly refused saying he should have taken better care of the first one. He then returned and went to speak with his conjuration professor about researching a mount spell using his sovereign glue. Meanwhile, Dibigo researched the cost of horses and interrogated the goblin about how to make sovereign glue. Flea went to the professor of necromancy looking for a way to have his boar raised from the dead. It didn't turn out quite how he had hoped and a week later he returned hoping something could be done about the smell.
As the semester rolled into the middle of October Thranduil was interrupted from his studies by a scream coming from a nearby hallway. Running to the source he found the still caged goblin being slain by a lizard man which quickly ran off just as Flea and Dibigo arrived through another doorway. The trio chased after the lizard, following it into a room where it unleashed a howler from a cage onto the group. They were quickly able to slay the extra-planar monster and then chased the lizard man into the next room where they found a massive shadowy creature with glowing red eyes. Thranduil demanded it bow down to him for its insolence but as he stepped forward, the group realized it to be an illusion meant to cover the escape of the lizard-man's true master. Chasing it into hall Thranduil recognized the fleeing form of a female elven transmuter whom had been among their list of suspects for creating the redcaps (from session 1) just before she escaped into the crowd.
After doing a small amount of research the group found where her dormitory was, and went there, hoping to find out the cause of the attacks. Upon arrival however, Dibigo once again noticed the scent of more lizard-men. Flea kicked in the door and the group found the elven girl they were searching for tied up, but surrounded by 6 lizard-men. After a short battle during which Flea was severely injured the group was able to finish off the lizards and upon talking to the elf found she had been captured and tied up a month ago by some human who couldn't stop raving about Arden.

Session 5: October 11-22, 0 "What to do with Betty"
Between Arden and Mialee, Martigan was finally changed back from his statue form. He was however purple. After a few threats, Arden turned him back to normal. He then returned to his room where he found "Betty", Flea's undead boar. It immediatlly attacked but the fight was soon broken up by Flea, who had rushed to the sounds of battle. Meanwhile, Dibigo spent time working on soundproofing the lab and concealing the entrances. Thranduil spent much of the following week enchanting his sword with the lab's equipment. Martigan spent some time trying to convince Flea that he had found someone to make him a new saddle (attempting to bring the undead creature to Gothard, the centaur) but laid down an ultimatum that "Betty" would not be allowed to stay in their room.
Eventually the group convened once again in the lab (where Flea had been attempting to keep his boar) and while Flea went off to speak with professor Mordant (who was missing), Martigan rushed off to fetch Gothard. The pair returned (Gothard was waiting outside as he was uncomfortable coming into such cramped quarters) and began to argue about what would be done with the boar only to have a robed figure step into the room. Flea recognized the smell of rotting flesh and moments later the group was attacked by a group of zombies (which had been previously cloaked by an illusion), two lizard men, and the wizard. Thranduil rushed to one of the pens, releasing the pegasus inside as an ally. Flea and Martigan began to attack the zombies while Dibigo sang. The wizard that had attacked them took control of "Betty" until Thranduil was able to kill him. As the battle finished one of the lizard men surrendered to Thranduil.
When the group searched the wizard's body, they were able to find a map, which detailed a hidden part of professor Mordant's lab. Dibigo and Thranduil went to report the attack to the dean while Martigan and Flea went to the lab ahead of them to see what they could find. When the group met back up they found signs of a fight in professor Mordant's office. After briefly looking through the items the had been ignored they used their map to lead them to his hidden lab where they found him tied to a rack (apparently being tortured) with an amalgam of creatures in a humanoid form nearby and a man turning toward them carrying a hot poker.

Session 6: October 22, 0 "Turn it into glue!"
Seeing a professor being tortured, Flea charged forward at the man with the hot poker. Thranduil cast a shield spell, Dibigo began to inspire his companions, and Martigan charged. Moments later the flesh golem (made mostly of lizard man corpses) charged toward the entrance, smashing it so as to block their escape route. Thranduil and Martigan began to fight the monstrosity as Flea freed professor Mordant who after casting an expeditious retreat spell ran to the next room saying "don't fight it here". Being suspicious, Dibigo attempted to trip him as he ran by. Never the less Flea, Thranduil, and Martigan continued to fight the golem, as Dibigo threw a torch at it and maneuvered to heal Martigan. A couple moments later, Mordant returned carrying a black great-sword with which Thranduil was able to finish off the opponent. After interrogating the professor for a short time the group continued to explore the passages looking for a way out but were attacked by two ghostly allips which they were able to promptly destroy with Mordant's help. Finally they came to a room with a large horse wreathed in flames which Dibigo recognized as a nightmare. There was also a man ranting about Arden and two lizard men. After a brief discussion, the man fled, having the nightmare attack the group. Dibigo followed but was quickly incapacitated. Meanwhile the rest of the group fought the nightmare eventually slaying the beast.

Session 7: October 22 - November 10, 0 "This is your Last Warning"
After meeting back up with Dibigo, the group and prfoessor Mordant went to see the Chancellor to report the their discovery and rescue of Mordant. The Chancellor reluctantly decided to let Mordant "interrogate" the corpse, sending the group with him to ask any questions they deemd worth. Thranduil recognized the spells cast to allow the group to speak with the corpse but when the group left Mordant left to ask his own questions privately.
During the next week, Flea spent a great deal of time at the infirmary where he volunteered his services as a healer. Meanwhile, a grey elf bard by the name of Ara joined Dibigo's class to help certain students (Thranduil among others) with their singing. Suspicious of not having been warned of this, Dibigo went to speak with the chancelor to make sure nothing was amiss. Flea meanwhile spoke with a mysterious benefactor who helped him with his new wardrobe and abilities.
As the month progressed students and faculty alike began to prepare for the annual festival of spirits which would occur at the end of the month. Thranduil began to work on his costume (a dwarf) after being assured the beard he bought had been shaved off of an authentic dwarf. On the night of the spirit festival Thranduil brought Darshee with him, giving her a costume of little more than a mask and a potion of endure elements. He also brought his lizard man companion dressed as a lizard man. At the festival he met Dibigo, dressed as a ghost and Flea who was dressed in a set of black robes with a scythe and a skull mask.
Soon however the group realized that the night was not meant to be nothing but enjoyment as many of the other costumed individuals threw down their hoods revealing themselves to be lizard men and began attacking the revelers. Meanwhile a massives green dragon, several hundred feet long flew over head causing many of those who were holding their own against the lizard men to panick. The Thranduil, Flea, and Dibigo were able to fight off some of the nearby lizard men with the help of Martigan (dressed as a minotaur). Before chancellor flew over to them and quickly speaking to Thranduil told him to go retrieve the scrolls from his office before flying off to fight the lizard men. The trio was able to make it back to the academy where they found Mialee defending the gates in the form of a large silver dragon. After dropping off Darshee and leaving Thranduil's lizard man companion to guard her, the group ran to the chancellor's office. Thranduil ran inside setting off a strange spell but found himself unharmed only to be confronted as he left by another lizard man as he left with the scolls. However, even as this opponent seemed better trained than the others the group had faced , he was no match for Dibigo's sense of humor (a hideous laughter spell). and was soon slain, during his own laughing fits. The group then ran back to find Di'riath, cleverly eluding a group of larger lizard men who were unable to follow them through the trees. Thranduil ran forward to give the scrolls to the chancellor and found himself watching as a group of five fought the massive green wyrm. A large bearded man charged forward to attack with a dire flail as a blindfoled monkey scrambled onto the huge lizard's back to attack it with electricity. A grey elf fired arrows between the creature's scales as a human called fire down from the sky and a drow blasted it with ice. Moments later the chancellor floated into the air accompanied by the master's of enchantment and evocation as the three chanted. This was immediately followed by a lash of energy whipping out and slicing off one of the dragon's wings. Moments later, terribly wounded it teleported away. Flea tried to make a claim on the wing but the grey elven archer was already standing triumphant upon it. Thranduil sarcastically responded to this by saying "why don't you try to take it from them?" before approaching the drow and telling it to leave.
About a week later the group heard news of a new bar being opened up by one of the members of the group who had helped drive off the dragon (Last Warning) which was called "The Last Warning Saloon". Apparently there were two contests for the night: Speed quaffing, and Endurance quaffing. Although the process ended up making him sick, Thranduil was able to win the speed quaffing contest, thus earning the highly sought after golden drinking mug and free drinks for a week.

Session 8: November 10-15, 0 "Look forward... to wyverns!"
Seeing Thranduil speaking to the Flimble at the end of his illusion class he eavesdropped to find that the illusionist had a potion he claimed would let the imbiber see the future for the diviner. After she politely declined to drink it Arden volunteered and found that he could change the future one he predicted it. Unfortunately, he learned this by throwing up back into the vial rather than heading to the privy, as he had seen himself doing in his vision. Thranduil, later met with the diviner who seemed to show interest in him and Dibigo suspiciously followed her. Later at her office cast a spell to predict the group's future but her words seemed useless.
Thranduil found that there was a hunt being prepared to find out what creature had been mutilating animals in the nearby forest. There were bets being made about which group would be able to hunt down the culprit and his father suggested he prepare a band to join the hunt. And so, Thranduil collected Arden, Flea, Dibigo, and Martigan for the hunt. Their search was fruitless for several hours until Martigan was able to lead his companions through the brush after a trail of blood to the corpse of a bear. After moments of debating about what could have killed the animal their queries were answered as a wyvern swooped down to attack them. It badly injured Flea but was killed moments later. As they debated what to do with the corpse, Thranduil, remembering the diviner's prophesy led the group to a hidden cave where the wyvern had apparently been bringing some of its prey to. There they were attacked by a group of smaller wyverns which were quickly dispatched. When they returned to the academy they were congratulated by Thranduil's father, the king and each was given a magic weapon as a reward.

Session 9: November 16-29, 0 "Flea on Trial"
After having returned to the academy Flea attempted to commission Thranduil's lizard man retainer to create gauntlets from the heads of the young wyverns he had collected. Through a communication (a joke on the part of Thranduil) the lizard man created sock puppets instead. Furious, Flea attacked him, thinking he was being mocked and cut off his foot only to find himself arrested when news of the act spread. Thranduil was able to commission a prosthetic to be made for his retainer. Flea was incarcerated for his crime but was sneaked out of his cell by another mystic worshiper of Grimm after another couple weeks time.

Session 10: November 30-December 7, 0 "White Death! sort of..."
After Flea's trial things slowly went back to normal at the academy. Thranduil continued to show up to some of his classes (as many as Arden could get him to) and Dibigo continued his research and teaching. Martigan did his best to clean his room out of the smell of boar before finding other ways to stink it up.
As the weather grew colder Martigan continued his duties as a guard and one day a tell but rather thin teen-aged human approached the gates with wide eyes and a look of amazement. After a few quips Martigan gave the youth directions to the chancellor's office. The new student, Griswald by name eventually found his way to the chancellor who showed him around the school before having Arden finish the tour. Griswald eventually was shown where his room was and began looking into what classes he should begin taking as a new student so late in the semester. After deciding on a class schedule he went to the dining hall where he saw Arden and Martigan whom he recognized, eating with Dibigo and Thranduil. He joined them only to be quickly convinced that Martigan was in the good graces of the chancellor and that he should deliver a package (stink berries) to the chancellor for him. Dibigo saved him from embarrassment by stealing the stink berries before he could deliver them. As the evening meal ended most of the student left but Dibigo stayed, joining the faculty table and playing for his and their amusement.
Later in the week, when rising early for his guard duties, Martigan was hit in the face with a snowball. Apparently there had been a massive snowfall in the previous night. Seeing the culprit but not knowing who she was (apparently a 12-14 year old girl) he decided to avenge the insult by filling Alura's room with snow as she had run off with the girl. In the afternoon, Dibigo found himself similarly pelted by several students but after playing a heart wrenching tune on his guitar a larger group came to his rescue, throwing snowballs at his attackers. Martigan was then once again assaulted but this time retaliated throwing back a snowball the size of a small child. Unfortunately, just as it hit the ground shook and many of the students, including Martigan, Dibigo, and Griswald fell through the fissures.
Waking up, the trio found themselves together in a long passageway with the ceiling having collapsed over them and sitting in front of a massive statue of a frost giant. Dibigo cast a dancing lights spell around the group and was able to find a hidden passage behind the statue, which he climbed through to scout out. On the other side he found several gricks slithering toward him. As he called for help Griswald climbed through the passage way while Martigan burst through the rubble that had replaced one of the walls. Dibigo inspired the pair and they were soon able to finish of their opponents.

Session 11: November 30-December 7, 0 "Meanwhile..."
After being awakened by a gust of cold air in his room, Arden stepped into the hallway briefly to find it filled with snow drifts before quickly dodging a snowball and shutting the door. Thranduil was not so lucky as a snowball caught him squarely in the face. The pair decided to head to the chancellor's office, Thranduil out of anger and Arden out of amusement. There they found the chancellor having morning tea with his wife Mialee. Thranduil elaborately complained about the snow having come in through the windows and the chancellor responded by giving him "the right and privilege" of officially being in charge of keeping windows closed in the case of snow. Thranduil angrily left and found Martigan filling up a student's room with snow. Apparently it was the one which had hit him that morning, and so he had his unseen servant help for the next few hours.
Later, near the orchard, Thranduil spotted a half-orc talking to the groundskeeper Gothard. He learned that the half-orc had recently joined the school's staff as a warden and would be helping watch over the area around the campus. Thranduil also spent a short time speaking with the half-orc and learned his name was Ouro. Martigan was then once again assaulted but this time retaliated throwing back a snowball the size of a small child after being enlarged by Arden. Unfortunately, just as it hit the ground shook and many of the students, including Thranduil, Dibigo, and Arden and Ouro fell through the fissures.
Waking up, the group found themselves together in a long passageway with the ceiling having collapsed over them and sitting in front of a massive statue of a frost giant. Arden cast a dancing lights spell around the group and Dibigo was able to find a hidden passage behind the statue, which he climbed through to scout out. When the rest of the group followed they found what seemed to be some sort of temple and after avoiding (mostly) a flame trap they found a large mural detailing a professy regarding a winter god that "would return in the absence of his brothers". They also found a mummy which took their names in a book of "guests before allowing them to pass. Finally after fighting their way past a pair of gargoyles they found a massive chamber with another statue of a frost giant and walls covered in murals which seemed to have similar details to those they had found before. There was also a group of demons which attacked and were soon slain.
After spending a short time examining the room, they heard voices coming from another corridor and were confronted moments later by Martigan, Griswald, and another Dibigo. After a short time of being unable to tell the difference between the two Dibigo suggested they actually test out their magical equipment and the group found that the double's equipment did not actually function. After a short interrogation they slayed the doppelganger and found another passageway leading to the surface where they found the chancellor and the little girl who had hit Martigan with snowballs. She was introduced as Lirra, one of the higher level students at the academy before running into the main chamber to examine the murals. The group then spent a short time searching out the rest of the corridors for other students before returning to the academy.

Session 12: December 7-21, 0 "More ice caverns and prophecy"
After finding several more groups of students trapped in the caverns Ouro went above ground to find a peaceful place to meditate in nature. For Ouro this entailed sitting in a waterfall to meditate. After a short while, when his normally red skin had turned purple he decided that he had been there long enough. Thranduil spoke with the master of divination for a short while and made an appointment to meet with her at her office after asking if she might retrieve a book from the chancellor for him. Meanwhile Dibigo had noticed that the chancellor was injured as he returned with a pair of students. After quickly questioning him, Dibigo went to investigate, accompanied by Thranduil and Griswald. A short time later they were followed by Arden. Soon the group found a large hemisphere of ice in area that was even colder than the rest of the passages which the group had explored. There was a blood stain on one of the walls and Thranduil took some of it, believing it to be the chancellor's.
Continuing past the chamber the group followed what seemed to be a frozen river of ice that led to a frozen lake with a huge frozen fish half out of it in a massive chamber. There were also what looked at first to be mountains but were actually a sculpture and optical illusion to the right about a set of steppes with ice sculptures of crops on them. To the right there were three small huts, also made out of ice. Stepping into the first hut the group found a mock fire pit, bed, table, and what looked to be a cowering man, all made out of ice. The second hut was like the first but with nothing inside it. Upon entering the third the group found themselves atop a mountain covered with snow looking at a face in the clouds as it rushed toward them before finding themselves once again in the hut. This hut was different from the first two. It seemed to be some sort of temple room. Griswald was able to find some a large sapphire and some runes which Arden was able to decipher to refer to another prophesy of the return of a winter god and some sort of guardian creature guarding the gates to his temple. Going back to the two other huts the group was able to find a small sculpture of the mountains with a gate and a bust of some sort of draconian image. Before finally returning to the academy the group went to examine the huge frozen fish they had seen before. Thranduil cast a spell to shrink the already small Dibigo to a size where he would be able to fit down the creature's gullet and he climbed down its throat. Inside he found the skeleton of a man with a wooden puppet and a magic ring which he pocketed without telling the rest of the group.
The next day the each of those who had been in the caverns below went to the master of divination's office beating Thranduil to his own appointment. There she gave Thranduil the book he had requested and the group had her tell them what she could about the gem they had found and the visions they had seen. Arden and Griswald found this quite interesting and the next day while Thranduil was meeting once again with the divination professor went to see the chancellor to inquire about making a trip to the temple which had been alluded to as part of his curriculum. The chancellor, agreeing that it was a good idea began to set up the trip accepting most of their suggestions for the trip.
In the following weeks, as some of the students and teachers were informed of and prepared for the upcoming trip, Dibigo, Arden, and Thranduil made preparations of their own. Dibigo looking for scrolls of fire spells , Arden looking for some research on some of the spells he hoped to figure out how to cast in the near future, and Thranduil taking time to enchant his sword. One day as Dibigo called together his companions with a list of things they would need the group heard a crash and a scream as Alura ran from a lab shouting "I hate these things!" before spitting out a gust of cold air at her pursuers. Looking down the corridor she had come from Thranduil saw a large number of creatures that looked like floating brains with a large beak and tentacles. Arden and Dibigo recognized them and grell. Ouro turned into a horse and charged forward to trample one as Thranduil leaped onto his back. Griswald, after several attempts to tumble by the tentacled horrors finally was able to take up a flanking position. Arden attempted an illusion but upon realizing the creatures were blind changed his tactics to try making a pair flee with a fear spell. Dibigo began to inspire his companions with a song and soon all the grell which had not fled were slain. Questioning Alura, the Dibigo realized that the grell were a result of eggs that had been brought from the caverns weeks before to be studied and went to report the event to the chancellor.

Sessions 13-14: December 21, 0 - January 8, 1 "The expedition begins"
Part 1
As students rushed around to prepare for the expedition Dibigo went to see the chancellor to request certain supplies among which was a scroll of sending to make the return that much easier to accommodate. Martigan continued his normal duties and Ouro spent time exploring the school grounds. Thranduil received a care package including warm clothes and elven wine. On the day that the expedition (the first of the new year)was finally set to leave he decided to go shopping, feeling he needed more wine but was retrieved promptly by Ouro. Arriving last at the teleportation chambers professor Tefran sent the pair after the rest of the expedition to the mountain side where their trek would begin.
The group consisted of Larael the bladesinger (leading the group) and Dibigo (in charge in her absence) to teach during the trip, Ouro and Martigan as guides/guards, and about 20 various students and teachers aids (including Arden, Thranduil, Griswald, and Syrune). Dibigo recognized some of the mountains he could see and after pointing them out, Ouro led the way. During the next few days Larael spent some time teaching Thranduil bladesinging basics while he flirted with her. She also taught some spell casting to some of the other students. After a few days they noticed a small village in the distance just past what Ouro recognized as a frozen over lake with an ice fishing hut on it. Dibigo took the lead and using Martigan as a translator spoke with the man in the hut and found that they would wish to speak with the villages elder to be allowed passage up the mountain. In the village Dibigo attempted to trick the village's elder upon meeting him but Ouro was able to assuage the man's suspicions enough that he gave them his blessing to go up the mountain through their holy path. He also warned them of a minotaur tribe which lived further up the mountain but had ceased their raiding of the village in the last few years. He also warned them of a guardian at the "gates" which led to the valley which housed them temple they were seeking. After traveling further up the mountain, the expedition soon found what happened to the minotaurs as they came upon the ruins of a minotaur village and were attacked by the skeletons of the deceased inhabitants.
Part 2
During the next few nights the group heard howling which Ouro recognized as belonging to winter wolves. He also found they were being followed by a villager by the name of Pacal. After speaking to Larael, the pair agreed that having Pacal travel with them was the best idea so as to keep an eye on him. On the seventh, however, things started to get bad as 2 students were noticed to be missing. Ouro was able to find their tracks and went with Martigan and Thranduil to go find them leaving Larael to guard the rest of the students. The soon found a trio of winter wolves arguing while guarding the two students and by using Martigan as a distraction got the drop on them and were able to save the students who claimed to have been taken by a huge purple skinned monster. After returning to the group they continued up the mountain. Finally as the sun began to set came into view of the gates which they were looking for and as they stepped through they found what the guardian that they had been told of was, as they were immediately attacked by a pair of behirs.

Sessions 15-17: January 8-31, 1 "Winter's release"
Part 1
After defeating the behirs, the expedition continued up the mountain. Along the way they found no signs of other dangers besides some broken branches of fir just before reaching the tree-line. There Dibigo fell to the ground in a trance as his skin was quickly covered in frost. Upon regaining his senses he told the rest of his companions what he had seen; a great mass of clouds had coalesced into a face and rushed toward him, like in his vision back at the academy. A short while afterwards the group came to a massive bowl with 4 massive entranceways at it's bottom and one more at the top. Presuming to have reached the temple, Pacal dropped to his knees and shouted thanks and prayers for having reached their destination. Ouro and Larael agreed that camping in the bowl was their best chance at avoiding the poor weather that seemed to be approaching and so the expedition set up their first relatively permanent camp.
Once they were done, Ouro, Dibigo, Thranduil and Griswald went looking for Pacal who had gone into the main entranceway. Meanwhile Arden and Syrune went to one of the rooms on the lower level where Syrune "gave" Arden materials to copy some of the rune spells they had found into his spellbook. Several levels above them Ouro found some runes detailing certain druidic rituals including one that would allow him to turn into an ice elemental which he began to study.
After having spent a great number of hours studying the druidic runes, Ouro and those with him heard the sounds of shouting and singing coming from outside. Rushing out to see what was happening they saw Larael singing while wearing a seemingly improvised blindfold and fighting more than a dozen small creatures that were seemingly made of ice. Meanwhile another figure was firing arrows at her while surrounded by a great number of statues. At first it looked like the blade-singer might prevail but then a great roar came from one of the lower entranceways and a huge white-skinned giant whose torso was covered in scars and had his eyes sewn shut stumbled out while dragging a massive club. It cocked its head for a moment, listening, and then swung knocking out Larael before scooping up her body along with several statues and carrying them back to where it had come from. Moments later a a large blue skinned ogre (which Ouro recognized as an oni) came out of another tunnel while covering its eyes. It spoke to the archer fora moment before she followed the frost giant back inside. It then barked out something in a guttural tongue and was joined by a white wolf the size of a horse. Moments later, the pair disappeared. Ouro, Thranduil, Dibigo, and Griswald barely had a moment to discuss what to do having witnessed the terrible event before their enemies reappeared. They recognized the oni's voice as that of Pacal and even with the disadvantage of being surprised were able to defend theirselves. Thranduil and Griswald quickly dispatched the winter wolf as Dibigo played his guitar and Ouro called lightning down on the oni. Moments later it too lay dead next to its pet.
Part 2
Running down the slope the companions found Martigan stumbling out of one of the passageways, apparently having been stunned by the frost giant. Moments later they found Syrune and Arden (who had recognized the medusa from hiding and had covered both his and Syrune's eyes. After a short discussion they decided they had to go back in to save Larael and the students who had been taken. Martigan led the way following the tracks left by the blind frost giant and soon they entered a huge chamber with some sort of elemental caster surrounded by the small ice constructs they had seen fighting Larael. It quickly summoned a wall of ice separating Arden, Ouro, and Griswald from their companions but nevertheless was quickly dispatched. Finding themselves unable to break the ice-wall that separated them from Griswald and Arden they decided to continue on and hopefully find another way to meet up with their companions.
Without Griswald to scout Dibigo suggested Syrune go first, hoping she would be able to find any traps which were in place. Her first reaction was to flat out refuse but eventually Thranduil was able to convince her by offering to sign off on an increase to Arden's current debt. Continuing forward the group soon found another chamber where the frost giant stood chained in a corner. However, with out its sight it easily heard their approach and charged them while ripping its shackles out of the wall. Thranduil and Dibigo were able to distract it using a combination of singing, guitar playing, and smashing a bell which hung next to the wall on one side of the room and so they were soon able to kill it. The next room the group came to was filled with statues which they suspected were victims of the medusa although some had grotesque changes made to them. Further beyond he gallery they head brief shouts of pain and so they quickly hurried on, only to find the medusa torturing the bladesinger. Martigan charged but turned to stone at the sight of the medusa. Thranduil seeing this ran straight at the creature while looking away hoping to not see its face. He then sprinkled dust of illusion on it to hide its face from the rest of his companions. Triumphantly he then shouted: "See woman, that is what we call tactics" moments before looking over to see Larael's eyes had been taken out and were on a table next to where she had been tied down. Still, he had his companions were able to quickly finish off the medusa once they were able to look at it. On it they found a wand of stone shape and one of stone to flesh. which they used on Martigan before finding Ouro, Arden, and Griswald and returning out to were they had camped.
Unfortunately their ordeal was not yet over. Just as they left the temple's halls a great shadow loomed over them and they looked up at a white scaled dragon surveying them. "Where is my priestess?" it queried just before Thranduil tossed the medusa's head to it. It then offered to let the group live in exchange for all their magic items and upon their refusal attacked. Larael, despite being blind was able to injure the beast but in the end, Martigan crippled it and Thranduil got the killing blow.
Part 3
After retrieving the statues of the rest of students Ouro, Dibigo, and the now blind Larael discussed whether the temple was now safe for exploration by the students or whether they should turn back and ignore what they had traveled so far to find. In the end, Larael produced a scroll of augury which they used to determine the risk and finding them minimal decided that it would be a waste to not finish what they had started. Soon after most of the students were returned to normal and were exploring parts of the temple although only in chaperoned groups of 4 or more for safety. Ouro, Dibigo, Thranduil, and Griswald returned to the gallery where they decided to attempt to save those that they could. Between Ouro's knowledge of healing and Thranduil and Dibigo's mastery of magic they were able to return a man who claimed to be a samurai of the crane clan, a paladin of Mystra, and a summoner back to their normal forms. The samurai and paladin were grateful but the summoner attacked, summoning devils to aid him. His summons however were quickly dispatched as the group not only had themselves but also the paladin and samurai for aid. They finally decided against attempting to bring back a man who as a statue had had his insides carved out.
For the next week or so all the students did their best to search and catalogue the temple. On the last day however, Arden, Ouro, Dibigo, Thranduil, and Griswald found something of true interest. In the center of the temple complex they found a weak area of flooring which collapsed into a room very similar to the alter room they had found under the academy, complete with alter and fire pit. What was different about this one was that the fire pit contained a blue flame which felt cold to the touch draining the heat out of them as fuel which they approached. Dibigo and Ouro also found runes scribed into the wall behind the alter speaking of a path being opened when a sacrifice was given. The alter had a large indentation where Thranduil had found the large ice gem under the academy and so he placed the gem in the hole. Immediately a bowl and knife made of ice appeared on the alter. once again Thranduil took the initiative using the knife to spill his blood into the bowl. The group watched for a moment before a passage opened behind the alter and immediately felt the heat being drained from them as a corpse stumbled out toward them. They attempted to smash it to pieced but it kept reforming by draining the heat from them until they threw its remains into the heat draining fire. They then walked down the passage it had come from to find a massive white skinned giant sitting on a thrown. Seeing them it smiled horribly and began to laugh shouting: "Free! Finally free!" and exploding into a mass of snow which was immediately sucked out of the room by a gust of wind through the way they had come leaving nothing but a whisper in their ears of: "You have my thanks..." Each also found they had been left with one of their items further enchanted.
After this incident there were no further encounters as the group left back down the mountain with the rest of the students and Larael. The trek back to where they were to meet professor Tefran was cold but otherwise there was no poor weather to hinder them and there were no complications for them to return to the academy.

Sessions 18-22: March 15-April 10, 1
18: Last Warning on a Tuesday
Thranduil and Ouro had spent much of their time since their return to the academy looking for a way to restor Larael's eyes. Thranduil had petitioned his stuart for a scroll of regneration but had been rejected on the premiss that Thranduil should not get everything he wanted just because of his status. Ouro on the other hand went to city's druids grove where he met the grove's leader, a geomancer who seemed to be composed of as much plant matter as flesh. They discussed Ouro's newfound ability to change into an ice elemental and he agreed to try to find a way to have Larael's eyes restored. Later the entire group was questioned by a bard named Ianus who wished to sing the tale of their fight against the dragon but needed the group's name (The Prince and the Poppers).
Griswald meanwhile was contacted in secret by a group attempting to recruit him. He was told to go to the Last Warning Saloon with any he felt it proper to bring withn him. There he would be given a task. That evening, Griswald gathered, Ouro, Dibigo, and Thranduil before heading to the saloon. Thranduil was quite distressed when he found there was no wine of any sort and sent his unseen servant to bring some which he used to get the owner's elephant animal companion drunk in the hopes that wine would be kept in stock in the future. Eventually Griswald was contacted and told to go into one of the back rooms where a silver-haired elven woman was sitting. She told him his task: to bring her the golden goblet bestowed on the winner of the previous week's contest. Returning to the bar-room Griswald spotted a huge barbarian holding the aforementioned mug. He began buying the man drinks before attempting to switch the goblet with a fake but unfortunately, just as he was making the switch Tuesday night entertainment at the Last Warning saloon began: a bar brawl. Griswald was just barely able to escape with the cup as one of the bouncers disrupted Dibigo's attempt to cast yelling that it was not permitted while the other wrestled with Ouro who had taken the form of a grizzly bear. Thranduil promptly jumped out a window to cast shield before returning, being thrown a rolling pin, and joining the brawl. Finally, while Griswald returned the the silver haired elf with the cup Kivan decided that the prospect of wrestling a bear was too much fun to pass up and wrestled Ouro into submission.
19-20: Thranduil's Test
Thranduil was contacted by Larael and was told that she thought he was almost ready to officially join the blade singers. He would have to accept one final mission, meant to test his fighting and spell casting ability, intelligence, and leadership skills. He would gather a group of his choosing which he would lead into the elemental plane of air and retrieve a missing air genasi by the name of Tristan. Thranduil gathered together, Dibigo, Ouro, Martigan, and Arden and together the group (followed by Griswald on a mission of his own) went to the temple of air, their gateway to the elemental plane. Inside they encountered the prince of the unseelie court (who looked supprisingly similar to Thranduil) and were eventually able to trigger the appearance of a rainbow bridge leading to the fortress where Tristan was said to reside. There they found a northerner who claimed to be the new high priest of the god of winter and while he did not wish to harm those who had freed his diety he would not leave without Tristan's flute. Thranduil was quickly able to figure out where the flute was hidden but in attempting to retrieve it combat ensued. Thigs at first seemed hopless as the northerner not only had two demons by his side but also had a small army of air elementals. Soon however, the group realized that all of the elementals were illusions and were able to defeat the "priest". In thanks Tristan offered the group stay the night and when they returned the next day Thranduil was officially accepted as a bladesinger.
21-22: The Deadwood
About a week after Thranduil's initiation into the bladesingers Ouro recieved word from the druid's circle that he might be able to find a salve with the regenerative properties he was looking for at the home of a recently dead Druid named Narbeth. He had lived in an area called "The Deadwood" in an attempt to restore the place but had been killed while helping to defend the city of Palerias a few months back. Ouro got the information to Thranduil indirectly, wanting to help restore Larael's eyes but not wanting Thranduil to know he was helping him. After getting permission for himself and his companions to leave campus for a week or so Thranduil gathered Dibigo, Griswald, Ouro, and Martigan and began the three day journey. Once they finally entered the Deadwood they found themselves traveling through an area that was more swamp than forest with amost all if not all of the trees dead. Some of the living plant life attacked them but Ouro was easily able to drive off the shambling mounds. After a few hours of traveling they cam to a ramshackle hut which turned out to actually be stables and had a wood golem guarding it. It requested they leave their mounts there as its master did not want those without a choice risking their lives in the deadened area. After another hour of travel they came upon another strange site. There was a huge rift in the ground filled with an almost liquid darkness which Thranduil and Dibigo recognised as a possible rift to the shadow, or negative energy plane. There was a bridge but Ouro did not trust it and so he turned nito a dire bat to ferry the group across. As he finished bringing Martigan to the other side a group of shadows flew up and attacked the group but even divided they made short work of their opponents. Continuing on they finally came to what Ouro believed was the home of the druid who had once lived there but were attacked once again, this time by what looked like a treant but was rotted from the inside out. Martigan was able to cut off one of its legs bringing it down to their level and the rest of the group then finished it off. Inside the hut they found what they recognized as some sort of alchemist's lab but also a ghost which began to attack the intruders until Ouro, recognizing it is the spirit of the druid that had once lived there, called out it name. When he and Thranduil explained their reasons for coming out into the Deadwood it pointed out the salves they needed and wished them good luck. Finally, while they were returning to the academy, the group was attacked by a pair of will of the wisps which were masquerading as elven children but were quickly driven off.
