Well I can't say that I'm surprised, but once again disaster has befallen the world, and its up to me to pick up the pieces. It all began with a powerful Glabrezu, whom I will only refer to as “The Baron”. This may be in part because of the power of this being, or it may just be because I don't know his name. Only time will tell. This is the name he came to be called, and for lack of a better one, it stuck. Oh yeah, and he used to be a doll. But I am getting ahead of myself. When Aaron and my adventures first began, we were in the company of a half-orc named Grathar, and a Kobald named... well Kobald (I forget which number he was). Amidst our adventures we found a small talking Glabrezu statuette, which became bonded in some way to Kobald. Somehow, in his constant talking and trying to tempt him into making a wish, he gained the title of Baron and it stuck. In any case after traveling together for some time, we parted ways and Aaron made a mistake (granted I may have acted similarly but... lets ignore that line of thought. In any case, we (and by we I mean Aaron) left a powerful and evil statuette with a tiny and psychotic Kobald. Note to any who read this: DO NOT LEAVE WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION WITH KOBALDS!!! I had hoped that nothing incredibly bad would happen because of this but some months later, Aaron contacted me with a problem. Grath had died... only he wasn't dead anymore. Kobald had wished him back using The Baron and this had apparently freed him and his semi-phenomenal nearly cosmic powers from his itty-bitty living space. Aaron, being the good-natured soul that he is wanted to save the day, but he couldn't do it alone. Thats where I came in. Well, to make a long story short, the team was back together again, and we were off to a larger city, to find out any information we could and use that to plan our next stage of attack.
We found a caravan with the same destination and were off into the desert. Unfortunately, desert travel has its own dangers, and when a sandstorm came upon us in the night we were forced to make camp at the only outcropping of rock we could find. That was when the giant scorpions attacked. However we were able to defeat them in quick order with a mixture of swords and sorcery. That was when I first met our new companions. The first was a child-like sorceress whom first made the sandstorm contain illusionary faces but then assisted us against the scorpions. There was also a druid and roguish character who assisted us (who we later learned, for some strange reason had a completely unfair paranoia and bias against wizards and magic, but more on that later). I was soon able to find where the scorpions came from, a small cave opening against the rock face. Soon, sure enough, more scorpions came out of the hole and we were able to quickly destroy them. We also found some strange black glass underneath their carapace seemingly caused by extreme heat. I came to the conclusion that some monster, possibly a fire elemental, had caused this. Then, upon entering the hole the rogue immediately exited the hole in order to better strategically position himself, and was followed by 4 small fire elementals. I was able to destroy most of them using my spells to summon forth a mighty Paladin (Aaron helped a bit, and once again our heroes were victorious. We continued down into the tunnels of what we later learned was a temple. Further along we found some spiderwebs and some spiders to go along with them, but they were destroyed with ease. The spiders seemed to be made of some smoky substance and I came to the conclusion that they had originated from some other plane, possibly the elemental plane of fire or smoke. We then came upon some undead which ambushed the paranoid rogue (I guess he had some reason to be paranoid here) and drained some of his health and spirit. Aaron responded in kind, forcing them back with the power of Bahamut. After this he was ambushed by even more spiders including one huge one in the next room but we were able to fight them off. We then came upon even more flaming monsters, this time in the form of skeletons, but were soon able to defeat them as well. Finally, coming upon a giant set of brass doors we assumed that our exploration of this temple was over, and we were right. Unfortunately the main alter of the temple was surrounded by even more elementals, salamanders (another creature from the elemental plane of fire), and one huge Fire elemental. Aaron valiantly charged the largest foe and we all waded into the battle for the temple. Upon rushing into the temple, Aaron was temporarily over-matched by the huge Elemental but soon I was able to weaken it and strengthen him to the point where it seemed almost to be a fair fight. Still, he was fighting a losing battle until I rushed through the tide of enemies to heal him. I temporarily took a knee after my act of heroism but returned to combat stronger than before with the help of the druid and our group was victorious. The temple belonged to a god which I did not recognize but when we reported this to the caravan leader, he seemed to recognize it and became very nervous, wanting to leave the area as soon as possible, but not giving us any more information.
We moved on but were attacked in camp the following night by bandits. We easily fought them off but soon discovered that they had been acting as a diversion; the real purpose of the attack was to kidnap the caravan leader's daughter, and they had succeeded. I volunteered us to go to save her at first light and we were off, with the temporary addition to our group of Marco, a man who fought using scimitars and a particularly dance-like style. We were able to find the area which the girl had been taken to and after turning our rogue invisible and making myself able to see through his eyes we prepared to ambush the guards which included a huge minotaur and 2 bandits. After attacking the minotaur from hiding, I switched his position with Aaron and the ambush began. Unfortunately, after our victory he (the rogue) attacked and tried to kill the bandit who had surrendered and we had promised to let leave. We stopped him from being killed and healed but we were not able to gain any information because the bandit ran off during a fight with more guards. Upon entering the compound, we soon found a man we assumed to be the leader but he dimension doored away when we gained the upper hand against him in combat. A pair of Dire Wolves attacked us as we explored the halls but we were able kill them quickly and follow their trail to the stables where we discovered a different entrance. Their was a pair of orc guards at the other entrance and we were able to ambush them and after a short battle, defeated the pair. Then after going down another hallway, the rogue found and bi-passed a crude crossbow trap and we found a secret passage in the back wall. Inside the secret passage another group of bandits was hiding. Aaron immediately stepped into the passage and engaged one of the bandits, while the rogue and druid threw daggers and spears from behind. The girl sorceress took out a group of bandits with a color spray spell and I stopped one of the fleeing ones with a crossbow bolt. One was able to escape through another secret door and immediately after closing it the girl disguised herself as a different bandit and ran off to follow. We searched the rest of the complex and seemingly found the kidnapped girl while searching for our missing sorceress. Marco took her out while we continued to search, and we eventually came to the room where we found the rest of the bandits. They immediately fired prepared crossbow bolts at the rogue who had opened the door. I responded by incinerating half of the bandits with a fireball and then moving Aaron next to the leader with another spell, while the druid tried to deal with some dire rats, and the sorceress became invisible to escape the leader. Meanwhile the rogue took out one of the bandits from behind. Aaron smote the leader with a powerful blow causing him to fall, at which point a blood-covered girl, who looked like the caravan leader's daughter transformed into a weretiger and attacked. It turned out that it had disguised itself as the girl in order to get the drop on us, and had apparently killed Marco. The druid turned into a bear but was quickly put down by the weretiger. The rogue threw silver daggers at the monster, while Aaron charged in to attack it. In the end, my spells and Aaron's sword were able to defeat the monster. We found the real girl in a nearby closet and after the one guard with her knocked out our sorceress, we defeated the guard and freed the girl. I then followed the trail of blood out of the complex where we found Marco unconscious, but still alive at the entrance. After healing him we triumphantly returned to the camp. The next 6 days relatively quiet until the last night before we arrived at our destination. A woman in black armor, riding a Nightmare confronted us in the night. She claimed to know of Aaron and my quest against The Baron, saying that she was his messenger. We were to give up our quest and join them or be destroyed. Then, when we turned down her offer and challenged her, she saw fit to flee into the night rather than to face our might. The Baron must truly fear our power and our ability to stop him if already, he is offering to parley rather than risk action. But only time, and any information we can find in this town will tell us.

We arrived in the city in the early afternoon to what turned out not to be a friendly welcome. After what had seemed to us an arduous trek, we came upon a city which had been besieged and guards who were none too amicable for it. The was obvious damage which had been done to the walls of the city, with places where there had been gaps in the walls with what seemed like a hasty repair job. Surely they had been attacked, but the guards were none too informative. When we first approached them they called out to their backup above us, armed with crossbows. Then we were told the rules of the city: there was to be no fighting except to defend oneself (and that had to be proved), no drawing of weapons with a penalty of heavy fines, no stealing (with the punishment of losing ones hands), and worst of all no public spell casting!!! The punishment for that was also to lose ones hands (one per offense)! It seemed like their was very little fun to be had in this city, or so I first thought.
Upon asking the guards where a good inn to stay at was they suggested The Misty Dragon, and so we were off through the bazaar to acquire food and lodgings. As we moved further into the city the quality and number of goods increased until the point where it seemed that there was nothing I would not be able to acquire. There were many stands selling jewelry, from cheap necklaces and beads to expensive jewels and rings. There were also many weapons and armorers, as well as people selling art and carpentry, and food vendors hawking their wares, from “fresh fish, fat fish” to “get your squab on a stick”. I stopped by one of the weapons dealers which had better wares to inquire where I could sell the magic spear we had acquire and he directed me to a different part of town, which I noted for later. Then, we finally arrived at our inn, to a sight which I thought I had seen for the last time. Jack was back; at least back in the bar. It took us a little longer than I would have expected to get rooms for the night because one of our more roguish characters (I'm not naming names), bought up all the service for the evening, but soon we were done and Aaron and I were off.
First to the temple of Bahamut to report on our mission, which turned out to be pretty interesting in and of itself. The temple dedicated to Bahamut in this city turned out to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest in the world! It was huge, with massive pillars and more than enough room for the silver dragon that was in its main hall. We approached one of the acolytes, and were soon led into a waiting room to meet with the church officials. Soon we met with two of them, one of whom had long silver hair (a silver dragon paladin), and after Aaron vouched for the awesomeness (and goodliness) of my character, we explained the nature of our mission against the Baron and our need because of it, to use the city's library. That was when we learned what had happened to the city. It had been attacked in a successful attempt to rob the city's library. Because of this we needed to get special permission from the city's Sultan in order to use it. They were perfectly willing to set up a meeting with the Sultan for us but it was customary to bring some sort of unique gift, a Baksheesh (or bribe), and his response to our request would probably be based on how good, unique, and appropriate the gift was. The silver haired paladin was going to arrange the meeting and tell us when it was the next day but it was up to us to determine what would be a good gift; and at that we were off to find a shop to sell the spear and for Aaron to buy some armor for his new steed (which I had yet to see).
We soon approached the area of the city I had been directed to in order find an appropriate shop and soon found ourselves in front of “Orphen's Magical Emporium”. Upon entry we saw all manner of magical items and equipment, and strangely a chicken in a badly bent wire cage made out of some weird metal, possibly adamantine (but why would you have an adamantine cage for a chicken). I quickly made the sale for the magical spear and then Aaron began to requisition the new armor for his mount. When the shop's owner (obviously Orphen) asked to see the mount in order to use it to take measurements for the armor, that was the first time I saw it. Aaron called out and summoned it to him, and to my surprise, it was a Pegasus! Then after taking some measurements on it, and after I gave Aaron a rather hefty loan to help pay for the armor, we headed back to the inn to meet up with the rest of our group to decide on a Baksheesh and relax for the night.
When we arrived back at the inn, we told the rest of our group what had happened, and had a long discussion over possible gifts for the sultan. Some of the ideas we had included weapons, fine wines, or possibly a fantastic tale. Aaron was even almost tempted to offer his horse which symbolized his knighthood. Finally, Allura piped up and offered a pair of ruby earrings which had been sent to her from her sister, received on a visit to the Elemental Plane of Fire. We all finally agreed that this would be an appropriate gift at which point the silver-haired paladin arrived to tell us that our meeting with the Sultan would be the next evening.
The evening progressed pleasantly except for one point where I had to grab Allura to stop her from casting a spell (and possibly losing her hand) after which I had the druid keep a watch over her. She later headed off to the Magisterium, at which point I decided to go out for the night in order to enjoy some games of chance and was off to find a gambling hall. I was soon joined by our more roguish characters, including Jack, and after turning down one suggestion of a gambling hall went off and found another where Jack and I sat down to a game of cards. After playing for a short while (and avoiding clashing with each other) I was up by a bit and he was down by a bit, but we realized that one of the other players was cheating. However, rather than find a new game, we decided that we were going to beat him at this one, and catch the cheat. Jack soon learned that the cheat was taking cards out of his sleeve, and silently pointed this out to me. We continued playing until on the last hand, I made an amazing play, where the cheater had a slightly lower hand but with the same cards in it. At that point we called him out as a cheater and pointed out how he had been cheating but there were no cards in his sleeves! That was when our rogue walked in and pointed out that he was hiding cards in a compartment in his glove. While he still claimed he had not cheated he renounced his claim to the winnings and left all his money on the table at which point he ran out the back. Meanwhile having caught the cheating thief, we collected collected out winnings and spread the rest of his money out among the rest of the players. I guess there was only one loser that night.
I spent the next day studying and preparing my spells and when the time came, we all headed out to our meeting at the Sultan's palace. Before entering Aaron briefly introduced us to the forms of protocol we should use when addressing the Sultan, which included politeness, not whispering amongst ourselves (although the Sultan and his Vizier certainly would), and that only one of us should speak at a time being careful not to interrupt each other; and at that our meeting began. Aaron began by introducing all of the members of our group, after which presented the earrings, along with an explanation of where they had come from. It turned out to have been a good choice, or maybe he just realized the importance of out mission, for after Aaron and I explained the nature of our mission and why we had to use the library for research, he consented. However, first we had to do something for him. There had been a person living in a nearby oasis who had specialized in hunting Demons and Devils. Unfortunately, he had not been heard from for quite some time. If we would be willing to take a message to him and find out what had happened, then in exchange, upon our return, we would be granted access to the library. Of course we agreed and so we headed back to our inn to rest ourselves before heading out the next morning. What would await us we did not know but we were prepared to find out.

“Adventures in Failure” or “Mind Flayers are REALLY gullible”
It was a great plan. Leave it to the others to get in the way. I was going to have him eat a horse! No one would have seen it coming. But in any case, I am getting ahead of myself. It all began with the Sultan, or more specifically our favor to the Sultan. He had asked us to go into the desert to find a druid. Apparently he lived in some oasis, and specialized in hunting demonic entities, but he had not been heard of in some time. Apparently it was up to us to find out what had happened to him and if he was even still alive. In any case upon returning to the inn I came to the conclusion that if I was going to have to tromp through some god-forsaken desert to find some crazy hermit of a druid who might not even still be alive, I certainly was not going to do it under the burning noon sun. So I did what any self-respecting wizard would do. I went to sleep. Upon waking I realized that my plan had succeeded, and the sun had set. Having performed my first stage of my plan to perfection, I went to awaken my companions, in order to set out into the desert under cover of darkness. No evil denizens of the night would expect this surprise strike and more importantly, Paladin's armor can get very hot during the day in a desert. After having traveled most of the night and we were getting ready to stop and rest for the day, we were were attacked! I can only describe the monsters as some sort of multicolored gummy worm like beasts, four of them attacking from the left. I started out by sending a couple of fireballs into their midst and soon our group was able to feast on delicious gummy worm flesh.
It took us a couple more days to reach the oasis, but when we came to it we were in for a shock. It was huge! Much larger than should have existed in the middle of the dessert. Well we soon came upon the druid, by the name of Hilmee, yet for some reason he was not willing to immediately heal me. I will never understand druids. Not only that but Aaron showed an immediate distrust for him, which was kinda weird. On the other hand I can't really claim to understand Paladins either, first they're off doing evil deeds (or is that righting evil deeds?) then they're accusing others of them. Hilmee explained that some sort of demonic entity had been attacking him in his oasis which is why he had been out of touch with the sultan and the city as a whole. He said he could not leave the fortifications that he had set up around that section of the oasis but suggested that we go investigate the cave in which the monster was supposed to be living. We decided to have a look around the area first, found a few things of interest. First and foremost was my discovery of some leylines running throughout the oasis and of the fact that they were broken in a number of places most specifically in one place where Aaron had detected some sort of evil. I came to the conclusion that this might signify that some powerful, evil being (maybe a demon or devil) had recently broken free. However, this was all we were able to find. We decided after some discussion, that we would go to explore the cave, but first we sent an animal messenger back to the city to report what we had learned.
And so we were off through the oasis, towards the mysterious cave. On the way we were repeatedly attacked, first by a group a sandstorms (air elementals) which we were able to destroy after a fireball and some charges by Aaron. Then by a group giant insects attacked, but Allura along with the rogue and druid were able to drive them off. Finally a huge Bullette attacked by burrowing towards us, but Aaron surprised it by charging toward the the lump it had created in the ground and lancing it before it even had a chance to surface, after which we were able to quickly finish it off. It was after this point when we came to the cave.
The rogue and Jack's companion decided to move to the cave ahead of us to scout the area, at which point a large gray creature, which rended the rogue in its teeth (and that I will call a Gray Render) charged out of the cave and attacked them. Aaron charged in on horseback and once again lanced the beast while the rest of us moved in, hitting it with strikes from behind and spells from its flank. Finally Aaron pinned it to a wall and it fell, at which point a ball of acid flew from the cave striking the entirety of our group excluding myself. Allura followed up by breathing an icy burst into the cave's mouth which I followed up with a fireball. Unfortunately at that point we finally saw what we were fighting. An Illithid Mind Flayer, which apparently went and dominated our druid. It had an ally but it had been immediately cut down by the fireball and icy breath. Aaron charged in for an attack at which point the Illithid let loose a mind blast attack, stunning a number of our party. I quickly realized that it intended to eat Aaron's brains now that he was out of commission, and that brings us back to the beginning of my story. In order to draw the mind flayer away from the Aaron's comatose form, I feigned having been stunned by the blast. The illithid wanting desperately to believe that a much tastier treat (my brain) was waiting for it, charged across the field of combat allowing a number of our group to take strikes at it in the process. I had planned to switch places with Aaron's horse after it grappled me but unfortunately, i did not have a chance, for as soon as it was distracted with grabbing me, our rogue swiftly removed his kidneys and he was not lucky enough to survive the process (or even wake up in a bathtub full of ice). We went on to explore the cave in which we found some alchemical equipment, apparently used to lure the Gray Render and get it to attack using pheremones. It was at this point when we decided to head back to the relative safety of the druids encampment and reflect upon what we had learned.

Well here we are again walking into a trap, although I guess we're not the only ones who fell for it this time. After returning from the cave to report what we had found to Hilmee, we found that he had a visitor. It turned out that he was being visited by his son. In the meantime Jack had gone off with the bear, but that is a story for another time. In any case, upon meeting his Hilmee's son I had a strange feeling that I couldn't explain, almost as if I had killed this person before. In fact, this person looked exactly the same as the person we had seen inside the cave with working with the Mind Flayer. Obviously Hilmee was upset when I pointed this out to him, but he was not willing to believe us right away. In any case during the course of our discussions, both Allura, and the rogue left the house. Hilmee's “son” left soon afterwards to see what had happened to them and soon after that we heard noises outside and ran out to investigate. It turned out that this “son” was no son at all but an impostor who had attacked our rogue in the night. He had survived the attack and run back towards the hut where we found him an but his attacker ran off. At that point, a familiar face appeared flying through the sky, and the only person who would be happy about seeing her (Aaron, she's his “nemesis”) was off using the privy. It was the Blackguard astride her Nightmare. She was accompanied by a number of demons including a Vrock which flew down bursting a hole in the ceiling of the house. I immediately cast a fireball into their midst, destroying some of the demons and wounding others after which the Blackguard fled into the night. One less combatant but this was to be no picnic, for upon her fleeing, the fake son charged down and rejoined the combat. I was able to curse him and with Hilmee valiantly fighting off the Vrock, our group was able to win the day. It was at this point where we found that the one pretending to be Hilmee's son was actually a doppleganger. Assuming that the body left at the cave was the actual one of his son, we went back and retrieved the body the next day at which time he reincarnated his real son, unfortunately in the body of a rather smelly troglodyte. We soon headed back to the city along with Hilmee to report our findings to the Sultan at which point Jack rejoined us, his adventures with the bear complete.

GRELL!!! (and a little Deus Ex Machina...)
I think I can sum up up our recent experiences with a single word: GRELL!!! Really big Grell. I may not have been clear about this after facing that Mind Flayer but I think it would be fair to qualify anything with tentacles as really bad, especially if those tentacles are for grabbin'.
Well where were we? We had just gotten permission from the Sultan to enter the library and do the research that we had planned, but of course, nothing can ever be that simple. We met a bard who had gotten permission to visit the same part of the library as us and then we were off. Well, it turns out that the reason this was considered such a good library was because it was so big that some areas had not even been explored in centuries. Upon entering, it seemed that we had entered more of a labyrinth and even after having been supplied with a map I was not sure we would be able to successful traverse it. Not only this but because of how deep the catacombs which made up the library went, there were also areas which some monsters had moved into and these dangers had to be traversed to gain access to some of the more obscure tomes. Despite these dangers, traverse it we did and soon we found ourselves approaching the area where our goal supposedly lay.
This was when we came across our first problem. It seemed like some sort of crystalline wall made of a salt-like material. The strange thing was it seemed as if it had been grown there. Aaron soon solved that problem, and with a couple of strong blows burst through the wall. After breaking through the walls, we came across a group of Grell which immediately set upon us. The first word that comes to mind when describing the Grell was hideous. They seemed to be floating brains with sharp beaks attached and a large group of long tentacles hanging down from their brains. They didn't seem to have any eyes, yet they didn't really have any trouble finding our group to attack. I hit them with a powerful fireball which almost finished them on its own, after which our group was able to quickly finish them off. We moved along even further until we came upon even more Grell, this time with spellcasters among their numbers. Once again, we were able to finish them off pretty quickly, but not before being pelted by a number of magic missiles.
Finally, right before we got to the part of the library we were seeking, we cam across the biggest Grell we had seen so far wearing a golden crown (a Patriarch), flanked by two smaller Grell. It demanded we pay tribute to it to pass at which point Jack used a Mage Hand he had stolen from the Grell casters to take the crown from its head and offer it as a tribute. While we all found this hilarious, the large Grell was not amused, and the combat began. It began by casting Greater Invisibility on itself while the other Grell moved in to attack. After being directed where it had moved to, I made it visible once more with a Glitterdust spell. Combat continued for some time until after leveling a tremendous blow against the Grell Patriarch, fell to a paralytic tentacle. At this point, things looked grim for us so Allura and I began throwing everything we had at it, while I led the remaining two Grell on a merry chase around the room. Allura icy breath weapon and my scorching rays were severely damaging the powerful Grell and it seemed we had turned the tide of battle. Unfortunately it was not to be, for she was struck down by a barrage of blows. Her death was not in vain, for the Grell used this point to dispel the Glitterdust and try to escape rather than pushing its attack. With a powerful fireball, I was able to destroy the weakened Grell Patriarch.
Before we were even able to grieve our fallen companion, we noticed a small scroll beside the corpse. Using this scroll of Raise Dead, we were able to raise Allura before her soul had even left the building. Then using her invisibility spells, we were able to safely move into the room where the information we were searching for lay. After hours of study, we had the information that we had come for and were ready to begin planning for the next stage of our quest.

Food is Good... or not...
We had finally finished our time in the library and found the information we had been looking for. The Glabrezu that we had been calling “The Baron” was in fact known as Quemthigystal Gerilaintor the Harbinger of Greed. He had been trapped inside of the statuette thousands of years ago and could only be freed by an act of greed on someone else's behalf. I wishing that Grath be returned to life, the Kobald had fulfilled these conditions and freed the demon. We also learned of a possible location in which we would be able to find him. It was a valley, guarded by a fiendish elemental and a sphinx. We also learned of a powerful magical sword which had been originally forged with the purpose of destroying the Harbinger of Greed. We assumed that this was the sword which had been stolen from Hilmee. Quemthigistal was incapable of destroying the sword on his own, however there were a number of ways that the sword could be destroyed. First if a holy warrior were to fall while wielding the sword or for him to be killed by it. I assumed that Aaron would probably be a very likely candidate to be used for the destruction of the sword and that we would have to be much more careful from that point on, and on that note we left the library and headed back to the inn to plan our next point of attack.
Upon returning to the inn I sat down with our group in the common room and began deciphering the spell books we had recovered from the Grell, while a couple of our group headed down from their rooms. They did not mention it at the time but a couple of them had noticed that our rooms had been searched. Meanwhile the innkeeper was serving dinner to us in the common room, but I was more interested in studying the texts and pushed the food away intending to eat later. It was a good thing that I did too, because it turned out that the same person responsible for searching our rooms had also disguised himself as the innkeeper and poisoned our food. As soon as he could see the poison had taken effect he drew his weapon and attacked, calling two orcs out of the kitchen to join him in the attack. Having been weakened by the poison, Allura was knocked unconcious by one of the orcs. Meanwhile, the assassin tried to paralyze Aaron intending to carry him off, but he was unable to fight off the strike. Soon he was able to smite the assassin causing him to fall. Meanwhile I finished off the orcs with a couple of scorching rays.
After recovering from the poisons we learned the reason for the assassin's attack on us. It turned out that someone had taken out a contract against us, for each of us dead, and for Aaron alive. We decided that before we went after the Glabrezu, it would be a good idea (and much safer) to find out who had put the contract out on us and to stop them from acting against us. And at that we headed off into the city to find any information we could on the contractor.

The end of Barbarabard
Eventually the group was able to find that the sword they were searching for was in the possession of a blue dragon, a favored of Tiamat, to the south. Along with Aaron's friend the silver dragon and some paladins they traveled to its lair. There they were ambushed by Ike who seemed to have become a thrall to "The Baron". They were able to kill the dragon and retrieve the sword anyway.
About a month later Aaron was able to find where "Valley of the Black Winds" had moved to. He recovered Jack, Amairgen, and Liam to help him and together they traveled to the valley. They were able to solve the puzzle the guardian sphinx gave them and to defeat the fiendish elemental guardian before arriving at Quemthagistal's ("The Baron") lair. There after a drawn out battle with the demon Aaron was able to slay it with his Holy Avenger Galithard.

What happened to Aaron?
Eventually Aaron met up with an elf named Eva and an air genasi named Auron. They needed to use a soul-sword to get to a place called Sigil where they could get some information they needed. Aaron traveled with them so as to allow them use of his sword but upon reaching Sigil he was separated from them. When he was finally able to return to his home he learned of a planar breach from the Abyss and upon investigating met the group called "Last Warning" which he joined.
